With this, apart from military powers South Africa con no longer stand on our way if the global powers decide tomorrow to take action on putting an African country on the elevated permanent member of the UN Security Council! Do you think that all this would make leaders of South Africa so happy!? Don’t think so. In fact if south Africa could find a way to aid the break-up of the irritating Nigeria that had constantly stood on its way to global stardom it would do so without any waste of time despite the fact Nigeria sacrificed immensely to see that South Africa got independence from the colonialist; to the extent that several South Africans were given shelter here in Nigeria when ever the heat was most for them in their own county including of all people Tarbo Mbeki who spent a long time in Surulere, Lagos. It is not surprising that South Africa should want to prevent Nigeria from purchasing vital arms from south African black market. Remotely South African authorities may even be working with some extremist opposition members in Nigeria to frustrate the Nigeria government for all manner of reasons. As far as I am personally concerned I think that this should be the right time for our president to once more have a critical look at our defense industry with the aim of igniting the operations of our defense industry. It is long over due. It is pointless re-inventing the will. There are many weapons experts across the globe the President must consider as a matter of urgent national security getting into partnership with these experts to commence with immediate manufacturing of light and medium weight guns as well as armored cars right here in Nigeria. Just like the recent thing the President did in car manufacturing. From this we can take it to the next level of heavy duty weapons as well as missiles both medium and long-range missiles in fact up to nuclear weapon! There is really no way we can use only economic rating to assert our powers on regional level let alone on global level! But we must start some where. Come to think of it is it not extremely risky for any one who knew where to look to be able to predict correctly the number of AK 47s , armored cars , bombs and other weapons the Nation has!? We must do something as a matter of urgency to remove our country from this extreme embarrassment.
